BALLYMUN JOB CENTRE
The Ballymun Job Centre (BJC) was established in 1986 as a community response to a chronic unemployment situation. Since opening, the BJC has adapted to changes in the environment in order to respond more effectively to the needs of the community. A voluntary organisation with charitable status, the BJC has a proven track record of providing quality and innovative services. The BJC has achieved both the “Excellence Through People” and the Q-Mark Awards.
The mission of the BJC is to raise the skills and labour market aspirations of individuals in Ballymun and to promote the Ballymun labour force to employers. The overall objective of the BJC is to provide individuals with greater labour market choice and the opportunity to improve their employability, increase their earnings and reduce their vulnerability to poverty.
The BJC provides a comprehensive range of services to create pathways to either further training, education or employment for its registered clients. This is done within a progression framework, which is initiated by; client referral (self referral) → registration → Guidance and Job seeking support → Processes (specialist services) → Training Education → Job placement.
Since 1996 the BJC has managed the LESN on behalf of the Ballymun Whitehall Area Partnership and DSP. The BJC also manages a Job Club and JI on behalf of DSP. The BJC is working with the DSP in the provision of Employment Action Plan.
A key element of the work at the BJC is to build relationships with employers. The BJC provides a professional and free service to employers assisting them in recruitment of staff. The BJC has over twenty years experience of working with employers in meeting their recruitment needs.
CENTRE FOR SOCIAL INNOVATION (ZSI)
The Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI) is an independent scientific institution, asserting leadership in Europe to advance social innovation and foster an open and solidly united society.
The ZSI deploys socio-scientific research, education, advisory and networking services to reduce the gap between social needs and potentials of the knowledge based information society. By connecting its scientific basis with practical applications the ZSI provides an interface across scientific disciplines and sectors (trans-disciplinarity).
CIOFS-FP is a non-profit association. It operates in 15 Italian Regions through its Local Boards with 100 Operative Centres. It covers many of activities: vocational training, councelling, services to local enterprises and particular needs. It provides training, workshops, transnational exchanges, research and work-oriented services. Young people, women, unemployed people, immigrants, prisoners, dropouts and disadvantage people are the beneficiaries of such activities.
The Headquarter is located in Rome. Its main tasks are: coordination, teachers/trainers training, supplies in technical and projects aids. It is part of national and European networks. It also manages vocational services on requests from both public and private financing Boards:
- Guidance services – information dissemination and guidance, counselling actions, guidance aimed at supporting training pathways, job tutoring and job insertion support;
- Training services – initial or basic training, higher education, alternating, continuing and lifelong training;
- Local and business services: training guidance for SMEs, researches and evaluation of needs, management of projects, lifelong training continua, tutoring for apprenticeship and stages, business support structure.
- Networking has been CIOFS-FP operative strategy to improve the quality of services supply and to optimize resources.
The Association has shaped itself in such a way that any resource, staff or structure is part of a territorial network. Regional Boards and Vocational Training Centres co-operate with other vocational training organizations, no-profit ones, public institutions, and enterprises to offer users a wide range of services. Thanks to the opportunities offered by EU Community Initiatives the association can count on a very good partnership with many different national, European and international entities.
Founded in Berlin in 1993, the Eurocircle network is a European grouping of project managers actively involved in the social sectors of education and employment. In 1995, the network became a non-profit organization, and settled in Marseille. Eurocircle is a European NGO that develops, carries out and promotes transnational projects in the field of international mobility and non-formal education. We also develop, design, and give trainings to guidance practionners, youth and social workers mainly.
Our objective is to give the youth access to European mobility and non-formal education trainings in order to empower them and facilitate their professional integration. Moreover, Eurocircle has been endeavouring to support project managers in their implementation of a European approach by initiating European partnerships in order to set up transnational projects.
The gsub mbH is a private fund- and grant-management and consulting agency working on behalf of the German federal ministries and the government of the state of Berlin. The gsub administers publicly-funded projects, predominantly from the ESF and national sources, and supports processes, companies and institutions in creating and sustaining jobs. The gsub’s consultants advise ministries and public bodies in the field of active labour market policies. The gsub offers products and services which have a positive impact on employment and implements programmes and innovative projects aimed at integrating people into working life, combating discrimination, and promoting life-long learning and social cohesion.
JOHANN DANIEL LAWAETZ FOUNDATION
Core activities entail consulting and project management, building and neighborhood management, technical assistance for program implementation, evaluation, applied research and knowledge transfer, and cooperation within European exchange projects.
The practical work of the department “Consulting, Evaluation and Transfer” focuses on the following topics:
- program assistance for labour market and training policy interventions with regard to implementation, monitoring, and documentation,
- consulting for policy-makers,
- administration, organization, planning and controlling of programs and instruments, and
- the transfer of knowledge, action approaches, and best practice models in regional, national and transnational contexts.
Johann Daniel Lawaetz Foundation acts as a consulting institute for European Social Fund (ESF) projects and actors in Hamburg. In-depth expertise and experience in the complex issues of conceptual design, calculation, application and administration of EU-funded projects are our trademarks. The ESF team at the Lawaetz Foundation has been involved in more than 600 EU projects, from conceptualization to billing.

Lawaetz has been working together with the partners at MetropolisNet since 2007.
MetropolisNet developed from a collaborative network of Territorial Employment Pacts. The concept of a free spirit transnational network was developed in Bremen in January 1998 and formalised in Copenhagen in March 1998. Its work began with a series of practical workshops and study visits in London, Stockholm, Hamburg, Malmö, Copenhagen, Brussels and Berlin. Since March 2009 it is registered as an official EEIG (European Economic Interest Group) in Berlin.
MetropolisNet evolved from a transnational network created to support EU local employment initiatives, including Employment Pacts. The organisations involved in the network have much in common, especially their strong commitment to tackling issues of unemployment and social exclusion, in a context of evolving local development policy and ethnic and cultural diversity.
MetropolisNet is a vehicle for inter-city and interorganisational collaboration in promoting the empowerment of local actors by emphasing the local dimensions of EU policies on employment and social affairs, and for developing the local dimension of EU strategies on employment, social inclusion and local development.
Rinova Ltd is a social enterprise that specialises in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of cultural, social and economic development programmes in the areas of:
- Skills, Learning and VET
- The Creative Industries and Cultural Learning
- Employment and Employability
- Enterprise, community development and social action
Rinova and its leading staff bring some 30 years of experience in the UK and Europe, and an extensive portfolio of project work in relation to learning design, quality assurance and evaluation. Rinova also co-ordinates a Consortium network (see www.rinova.co.uk/rinova-consortium) of London-based learning, skills and enterprise organisations (Further Education Colleges, Local Authorities, NGOs and non-profit organisations, independent and private providers, enterprise agencies) that are supporting young people and adults into employment, education and new business creation. The consortium is supporting young people through non-formal learning to foster employability skills through the arts, creativity, sport, active leisure, fitness and design. Rinova’s role includes the quality assurance and evaluation of a number of major skills and employment contracts with a combined value of 6 million Euros.
Rinova was developed from practice that dates back to the employment schemes set up by the UK Manpower Services Commission, through local, regional, national and European employment initiatives developed by TECs/LSCs, RDAs and Government departments; through to the present day through programmes funded by the Skills Funding Agency, ESF, the Department for Work and Pensions, London Councils and the Greater London Authority.
